Baked Stuffed Apples With Cinnamon Allspice and Cloves |

Another version of stuffed Apples I received from the nearby apple orchard. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons raisins |
1/4 cup sugar |
6 -8 medium baking apples, cored but left whole and unpeeled |
1/3 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/3 teaspoon allspice |
1/3 teaspoon clove, crushed |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Mix raisins and sugar together in a small bowl, and stand apples on bottom of slow cooker. 2. Spoon raisin/sugar mixture into centers of apples, dividing evenly among apples. 3. Sprinkle stuffed apples with cinnamon allspice and clove mixture, and dot with butter. 4. Add water along the edge of the cooker. 5. Cover, and cook on low for 3-5 hours or on high for 2 1/2 -3 1/2 hours, or until apples are tender, but not collapsing. 6. Serve warm as is, or with ice cream or frozen yogurt. |
