Baked Rice And Cherries

A wonderful side dish for meat, poultry, kids seem to love this too.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups raw rice ( not instant )
3 cups whole milk
4 eggs separated
3 tbs sugar
2 cans of pitted black cherries, drained and save juice
Directions:
1. Cook rice to pkg directions but use milk instead of water.
2. When cooked, add egg yoks and sugar.
3. Beat whites till stiff and fold into rice mixture.
4. In a buttered casserole dish add 1/2 of rice and drained cherries.
5. Cover with remianing rice, dot witrh some butter.
6. Bake 375F about 30 minutes or light golden.
7. Put reserved cherry juice in a pitcher and serve with the hot rice.
