Ingredients:
4 medium quinces, unpeeled, cored, and sliced |
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar |
1/2 cup orange juice |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/4 cup butter or margarine, cut up |
2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks |
4 whole cloves |
Directions:
1. Place quinces in an 8-inch square baking dish. 2. Combine brown sugar and next 5 ingredients; pour over quince. 3. Bake, covered, at 375°, stirring every 15 minutes, for 45 minutes or until tender. Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves. Serve compote warm. |
