This is to die for ...Great appetizer or light lunch with crusty bread.Recipe came from Fine Cooking.... Ingredients:
4 1/4 thick rounds provolone cheese |
1 small-diced beefsteak tomato |
1 tb extra virgin olive oil |
1 tsp chopped fresh marjoram(or oregano) |
1 tsp balsamic vinegar,divided |
1/4 tsp kosher salt |
few grinds black pepper |
Directions:
1. Position a rack in center of oven and heat to 450' Arrange 4 5 to 6 individual shallow gratin dishes on rimmed baking sheet...Distribute the slices of provolone among the dishes. 2. In a small bowl,combine tomatogarlic,oil,marjoram,kosher salt and black pepper. Portion mixture among the dishes,scattering it over and among the cheese. 3. Bake till cheese is slightly melted,about 5 mins. Drizzle each serving with balsamic vinegar |
