This are easy to make and lower in fat because they are baked instead of fried Ingredients:
1/2 lb ground pork |
1 c finely shredded cabbage |
1/4 c finely shredded carrot |
2 green onions, thinly sliced |
2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro |
1/2 tsp sesame oil |
1/2 tbsp oyster sauce |
2 tsp grated fresh ginger root |
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic |
1 tsp chile sauce |
1 tbsp cornstarch |
1 tbsp water |
1 16 oz pkg spring roll wrappers |
4 tsp vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425F 2. Brown pork in medium saucepan on medium high heat and break up into fine crumbles. 3. Remove from heat and drain well 4. In a medium bowl, mix together pork, cabbage, carrot, green onion, cilantro, sesame oil, oyster sauce, ginger, garlic and chile sauce 5. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl 6. Place 1 tbsp of pork mixture 3/4 way down on wrapper 7. Fold bottom up over mixture, then fold insides toward center 8. Roll wrapper up to seal 9. Moisten finger with cornstarch and water mixture, brush wrapper seam to seal 10. Arrange spring rolls in a single layer on a medium baking sheet 11. Brush with vegetable oil 12. Bake in a preheated oven 20 minutes, until hot and lightly browned. 13. For crispier spring rolls,turn after 10 minutes |
