Baked Pork Chops With Apples |

This dish actually tastes like autumn! It is from a local newspaper. Ingredients:
6 boneless pork chops |
3 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (i use granny smith) |
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
2 tablespoons butter |
salt, to taste |
pepper, to taste |
1/2 cup cranberry juice |
Directions:
1. Sear pork chops, 2 minutes per side. Reserve. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 3. Arrange apple slices in the bottom of a prepared 9x12 baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter. 4. Top apples with seared pork chops. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 5. Pour cranberry juice over all and cover. 6. Bake for 1 hour (or until tender). Make sure pork reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F. |
