My mom made this dish one year and it was a big hit!! We now make it every year for holidays. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
6 medium vidalia onions, sliced |
1 can cream chicken soup |
1/2 cup milk |
salt & pepper |
3/4 cup swiss cheese |
french bread |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. Butter 2-quart baking dish. Melt butter; add onions. Saute. Transfer to dish. Combine soup, milk , salt & pepper. Pour over onions. Put cheese on top;bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven, put thin slices of bread,buttered, on topof onions. Bake another 10 minutes until golden brown. |
