This simple side dish of baked onions will go with beef, pork or chicken. Ingredients:
2 pounds of onions - vidalia, other sweet onions, small pearl onions, yellow or white onions, or purple onions - cut into a large, chunky dice |
1/2 stick butter, melted |
3 tablespoons light brown sugar |
1 tablespoon dijon mustard |
1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees; 2. Place the onions in a shallow, buttered 1-quart baking dish; 3. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, mustard, salt and pepper and pour over the onions; 4. Bake the onions until they are browned and well heated throughout, about 40 minutes; 5. Sprinkle with parsley before serving. |
