Ingredients:
1 pound okra, cleaned |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 medium-size green pepper, chopped |
2 tablespoons bacon drippings |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
4 slices bacon |
Directions:
1. Cut okra crosswise into 1/2- inch slices. Sauté okra, onion, and green pepper in bacon drippings in a large skillet 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in salt and pepper. 2. Spoon okra mixture into a 9- inch pie plate. Top with bacon slices. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. |
