This one was found in an old cookbook about firehouse cooks. It is scrumptious for a brunch with a breakfast smoothie and fresh fruits. You can make it even creamier by using half and half or heavy whipping cream instead of milk Ingredients:
1/3 cup oil |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 large egg beaten |
2 cups dry quick cooking oats |
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Pour oil into a 2 to 3 quart slow cooker to grease bottom and sides of cooker 2. Add remaining ingredients mixing well 3. Cover and cook on low heat 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours |
