Great tasting Lasagne
Ingredients:
1 kg lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
340 gram pasta, lasagne
284 ml mushrooms
156 ml tomatoe paste
680 ml tomatoe sauce
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
3/4 cup water
1 egg, slightly beaten
500 grams 2% cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
3 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
1. Saute onion in 1 Tbsp Olive oil.
2. Add Ground Beef and brown.
3. Stir in mushrooms with liquid, tomatoe paste, tomatoe sauce, water & spices. (add spices to taste)
4. Simmer sauce 15 to 30 min.
5. Cook & drain Lasagne Noodles (12-16 noodles depending on cassarole dish size)
6. In a bowl combine egg, cottage cheese, parmasen cheese 1 tbsp olive oil & pinch of salt.
7. Spread 1/3 of meat sauce in a (9 X 13 ) baking dish & Cover with Lasagne Noodles.
8. Alternate another 1/3 sauce & cover with Lasagne Noodles.
9. Spread Cheese mixture over next layer & cover with Lasagne Noodles.
10. Add remainder sauce & cover with Lasagne Noodles.
11. Spread Mozzarella Cheese on top & bake at 350 F or 180 C for 45 min to 1 hour or until thoroughly heated.
12. Can be prepared up to 1 day ahead and kept refrigerated until ready to bake.
