BAKED GRITS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Forrest Estate in Denton, Texas in 1992. Ingredients:
1 cup cold boiled grits |
1/2 cup milk |
1 egg beaten |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Heat milk and butter then add the grits and mix until smooth then add the egg, salt and pepper. 2. Pour into a buttered baking dish and bake for 35 minutes in a 350 oven. |
