A great way to get the benefits of salmon that are quick, easy and delicious; even for those that are not fish fans. My girlfriend, best friend, and kitchen partner taught me the basics of this. I always thought I hated salmon, until I learned the difference between baking salmon and poaching it. Baking salmon allows the fat to cook-in, add flavor, and lose the fish flavor. As usual a preheated oven is key. Play with flavors you like, but you can't go wrong with this basic recipe. Ingredients:
3/4 lb salmon fillet (skinned) |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 tablespoons minced garlic |
4 pads butter |
1/2 lemon, juice of |
Directions:
1. Place the salmon on a lightly oiled pan. 2. Sprinkle oil on top of salmon filet. 3. Evenly spread minced garlic atop salmon filet. 4. Evenly place 4 pads butter on filet. 5. Bake filet at 375 degrees for 12 minutes if you enjoy salmon a little under cooked, 20 minutes if your preference is salmon cooked through. |
