Homemade old fashioned goodness. Delicious - whenever anyone was sick and could not eat they could eat this custard wether from overcoming an illness or surgery. The water prevents the oven from robbing moisture from the custard. If use for what they only can eat double recipe Ingredients:
3 eggs, beaten slightly |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 cups milk, scalded |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Combine Egg, sugar, vanilla, & salt. 2. stir in some cold milk. 3. Scald 2 cups milk then pour into egg mixture. 4. Butter inside of 1 quart casserole ( previously pour hot water into second pan 1 inch deep with casserole in it. keep water and Pan in oven. 5. Pour custard into casserole 6. Sprinkle Top of Custard with cinnamon. 7. Bake 20-30 minutes 8. If milk cooled when put in oven it will take 60 minutes to cook. |
