With the holidays approaching there will be breakfasts and brunches scheduled galore. In the south, you just can't have breakfast without grits and because grits are hard to transport, this is the perfect grits dish to take to an office party or family gathering. Ingredients:
6 c. chicken broth |
1 tsp salt |
1 tsp pepper |
1/4 tsp garlic powder |
2 c. grits (i use 5 minute cooking grits) |
1/4 c. milk |
1 stick butter |
4 large eggs beaten |
16 oz. cubed sharp cheddar cheese |
8 oz. sharp white cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat chicken broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder to boiling then add grits. Cook about 8-10 minutes stirring to keep grits from lumping. Slowly add cubed cheese. Then add eggs and butter to pot. Pour in greased casserole dish and top with white cheddar cheese. Bake for about 30-40 minutes. Delicious! |
