No need for the candy thermometer with this recipe. My family loves this recipe, I usually only make it as a treat for Christmas. Easy to make
Ingredients:
1 cup margarine
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
24 cups popped popcorn (makes a big roaster full)
Directions:
1. Melt butter, stir in syrup, brown sugar and salt.*.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring.
3. constantly, important to dissolve sugar.
4. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and soda.
6. Pour over popcorn in roaster and stir to coat evenly.
7. Bake in 200° oven for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes.
8. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
9. Store in airtight container.
10. *Put ingredients in a large pot, when you add the baking soda at the end, it will foam up.
