Baked beans get an Indian makeover! Serve with hot chapattis, naan, pitta bread or toast. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 onion, peeled and chopped |
1 green chili pepper, seeds removed and finely chopped |
1/4 teaspoon garam masala |
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander |
1 (14 ounce) can baked beans |
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a small saucepan over a moderate heat and fry the onion for a couple of minutes. 2. Add the chili and cook for a couple of minutes, stirring continuously, until the onion begins to turn golden brown. 3. Stir in the spices and fry for a further minute, before adding the beans. Reduce the heat and cook for 3 minutes. 4. Taste and season with salt, if necessary. Serve with hot chapattis, naan, pitta bread or toast. |
