Asparagus is always great in season, but instead of steaming, I found it tastes great baked in this easy style Ingredients:
1 bunch asparagus (about 20 tips), the younger the better |
olive oil (spray can best) |
parmesan cheese (fresh is best, but turn a blind eye and use the pregrated stuff if you want) |
salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Trim asparagus to even lengths and arrange on baking paper in a baking dish big enough to take them all lying side by side 2. Grate parmesan over the asparagus tips (enough for your taste, I use loads!) 3. Add salt (not much because of cheese) and pepper (lots, preferably) 4. Place in hot oven (200celsius) for 7-8 minutes, or until cheese melts and browns a little 5. Serve with whatever - goes very well with fish. 6. Remember to open the toilet window! |
