Ingredients:
6 large baking apples |
1 lemon |
1 cup hot water |
2 tablespoons sugar |
whipping cream (optional) |
Directions:
1. Core apples; peel top third of each. Divide lemon into 6 wedges; stuff 1 wedge into cavity of each apple, and set aside. 2. Combine water and sugar in a shallow baking dish; stir well. Place apples in dish. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally with pan liquid. Serve hot or cold with whipping cream, if desired. |
