A family tradition at any gathering. Can be served as a side, dessert, or sweet breakfast. Cooked to a golden brown, it's a cross between a casserole and a cobbler. Very easy, very simple. Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 pound processed cheese food (such as velveeta ®), cut into small chunks |
1 (16 ounce) can sliced apples, undrained |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. Beat sugar and butter together in a bowl using and electric mixer until smooth and creamy; add flour. Beat mixture until just combined; fold in cheese until dough is evenly mixed. 3. Spread apples into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spoon dough mixture over apples to evenly cover. 4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. |
