a pie version Baked alaska. Note : there is no cake in the recipe just a meringue over the ice cream. in the past I place a thin round slice of prepared pound cake over the ice cream , then the meringue. It's an easy adaptable recipe which pleases most dessert people. Ingredients:
1 qt ice cream softened- any flavor |
1 pre baked graham cracker or cookie crumb crust for 9 inch pie |
3 large egg white |
1 cup marshmallow cream |
Directions:
1. Spread ice cream over pie crust and chill to freeze 2. Beat egg whites till stiff peaks 3. Gradually beat in marshmallow cream to stiff peaks. 4. Spread over frozen ice cream to cover completely 5. Bake in a preheated 500F oven for about 3 minutes or top is slightly browned 6. Serve immediately |
