Baked Acorn Squash And Apples |

A good pairing of fruit and veggies. Nice side for turkey or ham. Ingredients:
2 medium acorn squash |
2 granny smith apples |
1/2 cup margarine, melted (or liquid margarine) |
1 tbl flour, all-purpose |
1 tsp salt optional |
1/2 tsp ground mace |
Directions:
1. Cut squash in half lengthwise; remove seeds. 2. Cut into 1/2 slices and peel squash. 3. Core and slice apples. 4. Arrange squash in a sprayed 12 x 8 baking dish and top with apples. 5. Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl and spoon over apple slices. 6. Cover tightly with foil. 7. Bake at 350 deg F for 1 1/4 hrs or until squash is tender. |
