I used to babysit for a woman when I was younger. I would get off the school bus and go right to her house, she would quite often have a big pot of this soup sitting on the stove to feed the kids for supper. It was a favorite then and I finally got a copy of the recipe from her after all these years. Ingredients:
1 lb bacon, cut in 1 inch pieces for 1/2 an hour |
4 cups potatoes, cubed |
1 large onion, chopped |
2 cups carrots, chopped |
1/2 cup turnip, cubed |
2 cups peas |
2 cups yellow beans |
1/2 cup celery |
Directions:
1. Bring all to a boil till veggies are tender. 2. Add one can of tomato Soup and one can of tomatoes. 3. Bring back to a boil. 4. Add salt and pepper to taste. 5. Serve with fresh buns. |
