I am not really sure where I got this recipe from, but we have been enjoying it for over 15 years. You can make a lighter version by substituting light mayo and yogurt. A nice dip to serve with veggies or crackers. NOTE: Prep/cooking time does not include refrigeration time. Ingredients:
10 slices bacon, chopped |
1 tablespoon bacon drippings |
1 cup plain yogurt |
1/4 cup mayonnaise (or salad dressing) |
1 tablespoon green onion, finely chopped |
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped |
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt (i now use a salt-free blend) |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon until crisp and set aside. 2. Combine the 1 tablespoon of drippings with the yogurt & mayonnaise. 3. Add the green onion, parsley, seasoned salt and the bacon, mixing well. 4. Cover and refrigerate for several hours (or overnite) for the flavours to blend. |
