Mom's take off on the classic hot spinach dip in a bowl. This is a wonderful flavorful dip heated in a bread bowl, the bacon, onion and cheese just meld together beautifully. Ingredients:
1 two lb. loaf of round sturdy bread |
cut off lid and hollow out, reserving insides in large chunks |
1 lb. of bacon (fried and crumbled) |
1 cup of white cheddar cheese |
1 cup of monterey jack cheese |
1 cup of parmesan cheese shredded |
1 small onion grated fine |
1 large glove of garlic, minced |
1 cup of mayonnaise |
Directions:
1. Scoop out bread. Reserve insides for dipping. 2. Combine ingredients from the bacon to the mayonnaise. 3. Mix well. 4. Spoon into hollowed out bread. 5. Double wrap in foil, with the lid back on top. 6. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. 7. Carefully unwrap and serve on a heatproof platter surrounded with bread cubes, pretzels or crackers. |
