an ordinary BLT. wont stand a chance once you've tried this grilled sandwich on a freshly baked crust Ingredients:
1 can ( 13.8 oz0 can pillsbury refrigerated classic pizza crust |
4 teaspoons basil pesto |
1/2 cup caesar salad dressing creamy or vinaigrette style) |
8 ounces water -packed fresh mozzarella cheese, drained and cut into 8 slices ...( or 8 slices of regular mozzarella already pkg.) |
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper |
12 slices cooked bacon |
2 plum tomatoes ( roma ), each cut into 4 slices |
8 large basil leaves |
1/4 cup butter |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 375 F. 2. spray large cookie sheet with orginal no stick cooking spray. 3. unroll pizza dough on cookie sheet,press dough into 16 x11 inch rectangle, pulling dough gently if necessary. 4. bake 9 to 16 minutes or until light brown. 5. cool about 15 minutes or enough to handle. 6. cut cooled pizza crust in half lenght wise and then crosswise to make 4 rectangles. remove rectangles from cookie sheet, cut each rectangle in half crosswise for a total of 8 squares. 7. on each of 4 crust slices spread 1 teaspoon pesto, set aside 8. on each of the remaining slices spread 1 tablespoon caesar dressing.and plce 2 cheese slices, on each crust slice with the caesar dressing. 9. top cheese with pepper, 3 bacon slices, 2 tomato slices and 2 basil leaves. 10. top with remaining crust slices, pesto side down . 11. heat an iron skillet over medium heat until hot, melt 2 tablespoons butter in skillet. 12. place 2 sandwiches in skillet, place a smaller skillet on sandwiches to flatten slightly, keep skillet on sandwiches while cooking. 13. cook 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until bread is golden brown and crisp and the fillings are heated. 14. removed skillet, cover sandwiches with foil while you make the other 2 - repeat with butter in skillet for last 2 sandwiches 15. *********************************************************************** 16. high altitude********** no change |
