Bacon and Double Cheese Quiche |

I received this recipe in the mail on a sample recipe card years ago. We use it as our special occasion breakfast! Ingredients:
1 unbaked pie shell |
10 slices cooked bacon (crumbled) |
4 large eggs |
1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream |
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/8 teaspoon white pepper |
1/2 cup gruyere cheese (shredded) |
1/2 cup white cheddar cheese (shredded) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. If making your own crust, bake in oven for about 10 minutes. If using a ready made crust, I have found this is not necessary. 3. Cook and Crumble bacon. 4. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half & half, thyme & Pepper. 5. Pour into crust. 6. Sprinkle bacon and chesses over mixture. 7. Bake for about 30 minutes, until custard is set. 8. Serve warm. |
