An easy and delicious comfort food from the Southern chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947. Cooking time approximate. Ingredients:
1 egg |
3 tablespoons milk |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
3/4 lb cheese, grated |
6 slices bread |
6 slices bacon |
Directions:
1. Beat egg; add milk, baking powder and cheese. 2. Mix well and spread on bread slices. 3. Place a strip of bacon on top; place under broiler and cook until golden brown. |
