Bacon and Asparagus Buns

I grew up with these but my Mom used canned asparagus. With my own asparagus patch, I have always used fresh from the garden asparagus. Some of my kids prefer processed cheese while some will only eat real cheese. I also often use back bacon for less fat.
Ingredients:
8 hamburger buns
16 pieces bacon
32 asparagus spears
16 slices processed cheese
Directions:
1. Cook bacon and break up onto open faced hamburger bun. Boil/steam and cut up asparagus and put on top of bacon. Top with choice of cheese. Put on cookie sheet in oven until cheese melts and is lightly browned.
