A spicy little delight from the New England chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947 Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2/3 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
2/3 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs, well beaten |
2/3 cup raisins, chopped |
1/2 cup nuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F and grease cookie sheets. 2. Sift first four ingredients together very well. 3. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy; add eggs and mix well. 4. Stir in dry ingredients to batter. 5. Add raisins and nuts; mix thoroughly. 6. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1 inch apart on cookie sheet and bake for about 12 minutes. |
