Very creamy and delightful dessert recipe. Tried and True. Ingredients:
2 cups butter at room temperature |
1 cup granulated sugar |
2 eggs |
3 egg whites |
2-1/2 cups all purpose flour |
3 egg yolks |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup whipping cream |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup fine bread crumbs |
Directions:
1. Beat butter at high speed of an electric mixer then gradually add sugar and cream until fluffy. 2. Beat in whole eggs and 2 of the egg whites. 3. Stir in flour and mix well. 4. Combine egg yolks, sugar, whipping cream and salt in the top of a double boiler or heavy saucepan. 5. Cook and stir until custard is thickened then set aside to cool a few minutes. 6. Generously grease muffin pan cups and coat with fine dry bread crumbs. 7. Line each cup with 1 tablespoon of the dough then spoon in 2 tablespoons of the custard and top with more dough. 8. Beat reserved egg white until just foamy and brush top of each then bake at 350 for 25 minutes. |
