This is an old family favorite that is a great way to use bananas! Ingredients:
1/2 c butter, softened |
1 1/2 c sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
3 well-ripened bananas |
4 t buttermilk |
2 c self-rising flour |
1 c chopped nuts (optional) |
1 t vanilla |
sauce |
2 t butter, melted |
2t sugar |
1/4 t cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Cream together butter / sugar until light and fluffy. 2. Add eggs; beat well 3. Add mashed bananas, beat well 4. Add buttermilk, flour, nuts and vanilla 5. Bake in loaf pan for 45 minutes - 1 hour - pass straw test 6. Glaze: 7. Mix together and pour over bread while still warm. |
