These are a knife-and-fork version of a BLT. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons mayonnaise or 3 tablespoons salad dressing |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
4 slices whole wheat bread, toasted |
1 avocado, peeled and sliced |
1 leaf lettuce |
1 tomato, thinly sliced |
8 slices crisp cooked bacon, drained |
thousand island dressing |
pickle |
olive |
Directions:
1. Combine mayonnaise and half the lemon juice; spread on one side of each slice toast. 2. Brush avocado with remaining lemon juice. 3. Place leaf lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado slices on toast. 4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. 5. Crisscross 2 bacon slices atop each. 6. Spoon on thousand Island dressing. 7. Garnish plate with pickles and olives. |
