Make a batch of hot cider, to warm and scent the kitchen with apple and cinnamon. Enjoy by the mug or take a thermos along on a hike through the autumn woods. Enjoy! Adapted from Susan Branch blog. Ingredients:
1/2 gallon apple cider |
2 cups orange juice |
2 -3 cinnamon sticks |
5 whole cloves |
1 tablespoon grated orange zest |
1 pinch ground nutmeg |
1 pinch ground allspice |
Directions:
1. Bring all ingredients almost to a boil, let simmer gently for about 15 minutes. 2. Strain through fine mesh into thermos, or back into pan. 3. Serve hot. |
