This dish is served in thousands of homes throughout the southwest. It's a stape for most Mexican dishes and a must learn to go with tacos or burritos! So simple! Ingredients:
1 cup white rice |
2 cups water |
1 small can of tomato sauce |
salt to taste |
pepper to taste |
2 tbls vegetable oil |
cilantro or cheese for garnish |
Directions:
1. Warm your Skillet with oil on Med/High Heat 2. Add Dry rice and fry your rice till it is toasty brown (do not burn it) 3. Add Water 4. Add Tomato Sauce 5. Add Salt 6. Add Pepper 7. Cover for 15-20 mintues 8. All water should be gone from bottom of pan, some Tomato sauce will remain on top 9. Mix Rice and allow to steam with top on for 5 more minutes 10. Serve Hot... Add garnish if desired on individual plates |
