This is a recipe I got from a friend in Perth. It is originally from her grandmother, tastes yummy and is easy to make. Ingredients:
225 g self raising flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 dash salt |
1 1/2 tablespoons caster sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 cup milk |
50 g butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven until very hot! 2. Melt butter, beat egg in a bowl and add milk. 3. Mix baking powder, sugar flour and salt in a bowl. 4. Pour 1 into 2, mix - not too much. 5. Tip onto bench/board that is floured. 6. Mix together until smooth. 7. Pat down to ca. 2cm thick. 8. Cut out. 9. Push together slightly. 10. Bake in moderate / hot (225°C) oven for 12-15 minutes. 11. Serve with creme and jam (and tea!). |
