A cakey brownie that isn't overly sweet. Not fudgey, sticky, or gooey - and to me, that's a good thing sometimes! Frosting can be omitted if you wish, and pecans may be substituted for walnuts. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup cocoa |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1 cup vegetable oil |
1/2 cup cold water |
4 eggs, lightly beaten |
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped |
chocolate frosting (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. 2. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan. 3. Bake at 325 F until edges begin to pull away from the pan and toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean (about 25-30 min). 4. Cool completely. Ice with frosting, if desired. Cut into squares. |
