A recipe from my Aunt Sharon from Toledo. Ingredients:
1 lb italian sausage |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon basil |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 lb canned tomato, chopped |
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste |
10 ounces lasagna noodles |
3 cups ricotta cheese |
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1 lb mozzarella cheese (sliced thin) |
2 tablespoons parsley |
2 eggs, beaten |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Brown sausage and drain off fat. Add next 5 ingredients. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 2. Cook lasagna noodles until tender. Drain and rinse. 3. Combine remaining ingredients, except mozzarella. 4. Place half of the noodles in a 13x9 pan. Spread 1/2 ricotta mixture over noodles. Add 1/2 the meat mixture and 1/2 the mozzarella. Repeat with a second layer. 5. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
