This is a recipe my mother got from a dear friend and even though it takes five to six hours of cooking, it has become our favorite stew. And it is so easy to make with a minimum of work involved. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs stew meat |
6 medium potatoes, cut up |
6 carrots, cut in chunks |
1 onion, sliced |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup |
1 (2 ounce) package onion soup mix |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees. 2. Layer meat and veggies in a large dutch oven or roaster pan. 3. Mix soups, soup mix and tomato sauce together and pour over the meat and vegetables. 4. Cook 5 to 6 hours. |
