My sister and I spent a week each summer with Aunt Frances, who always had this thirst-quenching lemonade in a stoneware crock in the refrigerator. It tastes so much like fresh citrus. It made such a refreshing drink after a hot day running around the farm. -Debbie Reinhart, New Cumberland, PA.
Ingredients:
5 lemons
5 limes
5 oranges
3 quarts water
1-1/2 to 2 cups sugar
Directions:
1. Squeeze the juice from four of the lemons, limes and oranges; pour into a gallon container.
2. Thinly slice the remaining fruit and set aside for garnish. Add water and sugar; mix well. Store in the refrigerator. Serve over ice with fruit slices. Yield: 12-16 servings (1 gallon).
