Ingredients:
1 cup(s) scalded milk (100 degrees) |
1/2 cup(s) shortening |
1 package(s) cake yeast or dry yeast |
4 1/2 cup(s) flour sifted |
1/2 cup(s) sugar |
1 teaspoon(s) salt |
3 whole(s) eggs beaten |
Directions:
1. Combine milk, shortening, sugar, and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add crumbled yeast and stir well. Add eggs. Add flour and mix to smooth dough. Knead lightly on floured surface. Place dough in greased bowl and cover and let rise until doubled in bulk. Divide dough in thirds. Roll surface to 9 circles. Brush with melted oleo. Cut each circle in 12 wedges shaped pieces. Roll each wedge starting with wide end and roll to point. Arrange in greased baking pan and brush with melted butter. Let rise until very light. Brush with butter. Bake at 400 degrees. Makes 3 dozen. |
