Not your typical sugar frosting. One of my favorites, rich and flavorful. Ingredients:
1 cup milk |
5 tablespoons flour |
1 pinch salt |
1 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, mix milk, flour and salt until smooth. 2. Place over low heat and cook, stirring constantly until thickened (5-7 minutes). 3. Remove from heat and cool. 4. Cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. 5. Gradually beat in cooled flour mixture until smooth. 6. Beat in vanilla. 7. Frosts one cake. |
