A delicious, moist turkey burger Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground turkey |
1/3 cup applesauce |
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce |
1 tablespoon soy sauce |
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil, plus additional |
toasted sesame oil, for the pan |
1 tablespoon finely minced gingerroot |
2 -3 medium garlic cloves, finely minced |
1 pinch salt & freshly ground black pepper |
3 scallions, white and light green parts, finely chopped |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the turkey, applesauce, hoisin and soy sauces, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, scallions and salt and pepper to taste. Form the meat into 6 patties. (May be covered and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.). 2. Lightly brush a grill pan or skillet with the sesame oil and place over medium-high heat. Add the patties and fry until golden, about 4 minutes. Turn and cook until the other side is golden and the turkey is cooked through, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a bun. Serve immediately. |
