Asian Burgers With Wasabi Slaw |

These burgers are served atop lettuce leaves. Of course you can put them on buns. Great Low carb recipe! Delicious, easy and different! The wasabi slaw is excellent on it's own as a side dish to meats and poultry Ingredients:
wasabi slaw |
1/3 cup mayo or enough to bind as desired, low mayo fat okay |
1 1/2 tsp wasabi powder |
3 cups pkg. coleslaw mix ( cabbage and carrots ) |
1/2 cup red bell pepper strips |
1/4 cup chopped green onion |
burgers |
1 lb ground beef, as lean as possible |
4 tbs soy sauce ( low salt is okay, too ) |
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic |
4 large romaine or boston lettuce leaves |
Directions:
1. Mix coleslaw ingredients, blend well and chill. 2. Combine beef, 1 Tbs soy sauce and garlic. 3. Shape meat into 4 patties. 4. Grill uncovered 11 to 13 minutes or done, basting with remaining soy sauce. 5. Place burgers in lettuce leaves and top with the slaw. 6. Yield 4 servings. |
