Asian Appetizer Meatballs With Hot N' Spicy Dipping Sauce |

We had these at Oslaidas' son, Nicholas' 1st birthday party - we tried to get pregnant for the longest so when she finally did, he became our baby. He has many godparents! These were so very tasty! Ingredients:
4 teaspoons mrs. dash seasoning mix (original blend) |
1 lb lean ground beef |
8 ounces water chestnuts |
1/4 cup egg substitute or 1 egg, beaten |
1/4 cup dry sherry |
1/3 cup chopped scallion (both parts) |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
4 teaspoons mrs. dash seasoning mix (original blend) |
2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice |
3/4 cup catsup |
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
6 tablespoons cider vinegar |
6 tablespoons dry sherry |
3 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
Directions:
1. DIPPING SAUCE:. 2. Combine all ingredients in a 1 qt saucepan. 3. Bring to a boil; stir constantly until thickened, about 10 minutes. 4. Cool slightly before serving. 5. MEATBALLS:. 6. Preheat oven to 350ºF. 7. Drain and finely chop water chestnuts; finely chop green onions. 8. Combine ground beef, water chestnuts, egg substitute or egg, sherry, green onions, MrsDash Original Blend, and ginger in large bowl; mix well. 9. Shape into 32 meatballs, about 1 in diameter. 10. Place meatballs on rack in broiler pan. 11. Bake meatballs 15-20 minutes. 12. Serve with dipping sauce which should be made while cooking the meatballs. |
