Arminyan Plov , easy, beautiful and delcious! Fir vegetarian, use vegetable or mushroom broth
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups kasha , (buckwheat groats or bulghur wheat ) either one may be used
1 onion -- chopped
1 clove garlic -- minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups chicken broth( or vegetable based )
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 1/2 cups garbanzo beans -- cooked
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup raisins
sour cream
Directions:
1. Sauté onion & garlic in olive oil until soft.
2. Add kasha & stir well
3. Add all remaining ingredients except sour cream.
4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover, & cook until liquid is absorbed.
5. Top each serving with a generous dollop of sour cream.
