Arminyan Plov , easy, beautiful and delcious! Fir vegetarian, use vegetable or mushroom broth Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups kasha , (buckwheat groats or bulghur wheat ) either one may be used |
1 onion -- chopped |
1 clove garlic -- minced |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 cups chicken broth( or vegetable based ) |
1/4 cup slivered almonds |
1 1/2 cups garbanzo beans -- cooked |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon cardamom |
1/2 teaspoon allspice |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 cup raisins |
sour cream |
Directions:
1. Sauté onion & garlic in olive oil until soft. 2. Add kasha & stir well 3. Add all remaining ingredients except sour cream. 4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover, & cook until liquid is absorbed. 5. Top each serving with a generous dollop of sour cream. |
