I remember an arcade from my youth that I used to frequent with my grandfather. There were two distinct frozen beverages that the coffee/soda shop there produced that were delicious favorites. I preferred their Julius knockoff as a child, and when older came to appreciate the drink my pap often ordered... the espresso milkshake. The arcade, like nearly all of its kind, no longer exists, but the owner upon retirement shared the formula for my two favorite tasty treats. Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces espresso (one shot) |
1/2 cup low-fat milk (the original recipe called for whole milk, but we must watch the waist, no ) |
2 scoops vanilla ice cream (heaping scoops) |
1 tablespoon hot fudge |
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup |
1 tablespoon sugar |
Directions:
1. Blend milk, espresso, and sugar until sugar is dissolved. (They kept this blend on-hand, already mixed). 2. Add remaining ingredients and blend until milkshake consistency. |
