Slightly spicy green lentils, great side dish. Recipe from Green Cuisine Cookbook, 2006. Ingredients:
1 1/2 tbsp sunflower oil |
3/4 cup onions, diced |
1/4 tsp black pepper |
1/8 tsp cayenne |
1 1/2 cup green lentils |
1 1/2 tbsp brown basmati rice |
6 cups water |
1/4 tsp salt |
Directions:
1. Saute the onions for 5 minutes in the oil. 2. Add the spices, lentils and rice and cook with the onions for 5 minutes. 3. Add the water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 45 minutes, add the salt and serve. |
