Look for 1-quart cordial bottles, carafes, or mason jars with necks wide enough for adding the fruit (and removing it, if desired, after the liqueur has matured). You may need slightly more or less fruit, vodka, and rock candy, depending on the size of the containers. Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds rock candy (see tip, below) |
1 1/2 pounds dried pears and/or apricots |
2 liters vodka |
Directions:
1. Divide rock candy among containers. Add fruit and cover with vodka. Seal containers tightly and let stand for 6 weeks, preferably in a cool, dark place. Serve as an after-dinner drink or drizzle over ice cream. 2. Tip: Rock candy can be purchased from The Original Fudge Kitchen (1-800-233-8343; ). |
