I love the sweet and tangy flavors of chutney. They are great served with cheese and crackers, or they add a wonderful flavor to chicken or tuna salad. Ingredients:
1 apple, peeled and chopped |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup water |
3/4 cup dried apricot halves, chopped |
1/2 cup onion |
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar |
1/4 cup raisins |
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice |
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, chopped |
1 teaspoon lemon rind, grated |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, combine all the ingredients; bring to a boil over high heat. 2. Reduce heat, and simmer uncovered, 30 minutes or to desired consistency, stirring occasionally. 3. Cover and chill. 4. Serve with ham or cheese and crackers. |
